As I help with technology needs across a few churches, I began to think of ways to share resources among churches. I started the process by thinking of how each church performs the same trainings, discipleship courses, and kids ministry. I believe that if each church could share a part of the teaching, package the shared ideas through online video or training materials, it would go a long way towards increasing the effectiveness of making disciples.

2nd Night of the Hebrews Study - Chapter 1
In this chapter we discussed the two images that stood out to us. The strongest being an explanation to the Hebrews of Jesus' position and relationship with God.
The chapter made strong references to the angels which the Jewish people held in hight esteem. In this, I believe the author attempts to make a strong connection with the Israelites. By starting off with the relationships between God, Jesus, and the angels, the author grabs the attention of potential converts and newly converted Israelites.
And I can't find what I did with the handout for last week, I will post it when I come across it.

1st Night of the Hebrews Study
We began our first week of the Hebrews study tonight. Basically, we did an overview of God's purpose in the book, the role Jesus takes up for the church, and the importance of faith.
Dan, Donna, Katie, Andrea and I attended tonight. We had spaghetti, it was yummy. I had too much.
After discussing the overview of the book, we moved a bit afield and discussed John's authorship of Revelations and his advanced age in a time when it seems that most people maintain shorter life spans.
We also discussed a bit about creationism and the implications of theistic evolution.
I included a link to our handout tonight. The handout contains a summary of Hebrews and an outline of the important messages contained in the book.
Our work for the next week involves reading Hebrews 1 and highlighting the passages that speak or stand out for us. Should anyone need it, bible.cc has some create cross references and comparisons. Way more indepth than biblegateway.com.
